Why we're bringing the event to the town?

Inspire Activity

image48

Providing opportunities to exercise by promoting local activities, supporting local groups as well as helping to remove barriers to exercise.

Promote Doncaster

image49

We want people to see a Doncaster rich in leisure opportunities and with a physically active population.

Community

image50

Working with clubs, charities and associated groups to bring people together.

We also head into the heart of Rossington Village. A village with a strong community spirit and great residents-they'll be getting involved along the way and cheering you on the day!

Event history!

While we may not be following this route, this is a great one hour documentary on the 1983 St Leger Half Marathon with over 4000 runners. We're chuffed that we will be "doffing the running cap" to the course and passing over the original start line from this 1983 video.

ps: we think the 80's sportswear is due a come back!

Run for Great Wildlife Causes!

You can support the great Yorkshire Wildlife Trust based at the Potteric Carr reserve (you run past this incredible reserve twice) or our friends at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation based at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

These are great local charities helping our wildlife friends.

You can now raise sponsorship and get sponsored and run to for them!
